Emergency Medical Services
Ambulance services are currently being provided by the Emergency Medical Services Department at Davis County Hospital. The Department provides ambulance service for the 508 square miles in Davis County, as well as calls for neighboring communities when the need arises.
Davis County Hospital EMS is an advanced life support service, and is available to meet the community’s needs 24 hours a day. Crews are on call to provide additional staff during community emergencies.
The service is located in the Emergency Department, which allows staff to work closely with the emergency room personnel. When the crew is not on calls they are able to assist with any emergency that come to the department.
The crews provide services to the community with a fleet of three ambulances which are equipped with advanced life support equipment, as well as other emergency response equipment and medications.
Sixteen certified staff makes up the ambulance crew. Certification includes:
- 6 – Paramedic Specialists
- 3 Intermediate Emergency Medical Technicians
- 7 Basic Emergency Medical Technicians
EMS staff is also trained in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Pre-Hospital T
rauma Life Support.
The EMS Department at Davis County Hospital knows the importance of providing continued service to the community. The department provides medical assistance at Davis County School events, the Davis County Fair and other activities throughout the County. In addition, the department provides CPR Classes for community business, schools, government and individual.
The Davis County First Responders are sponsored in part by the Davis County Hospital EMS Department. First Responders are a group of local and rural residents who have been trained as First Responders/EMT-Bs and provide volunteer response to 911 calls throughout the County for quicker response time to emergencies. The group also provides assistance to EMS crews during emergency situation.
