Emergency Department
When an emergency situation arises, every second counts. Davis County Hospital's Emergency Department is ready - day or night - to handle emergencies promptly and with personalized care.
When the ambulance is dispatched, the Emergency Room nurses at Davis County Hospital are notified. A two-way radio and cellular telephone allow constant communication between ER nurses and EMS personnel.
The emergency department has a physician on call 24-HOURS every day.
All of the ER nurses are ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) certified, allowing treatment to begin immediately under the protocols established by the American Heart Association.
The emergency room is fully equipped with defibrillators, external pacemakers, crash carts and emergency medicines and equipment. It also has direct phone lines to three helicopter transport services and has numerous physician consultation services available.
